All in the Family: Fairview Park Mother & Daughter Creative Duo
Former American Greetings artist, my mother, Lynn Tooman-Cser and myself, a writer, have introduced new children’s characters to the marketplace, The Birthday Triplets. With a Facebook following of already 14,000 fans worldwide, the magical triplets - Cookie, Candi, and Coco Birthday - burst onto the scene through their first book, "The Birthday Triplets: Granny’s Amazing, Magical Day". The book is available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
In writing for children ages 4-8, our goal is to impact the culture through characters that inspire the reader to view others with empathy. In each story, the triplets seek out and bring magical parties to those who feel sad on their birthdays.
In their first book of the series, you will meet magical inventor, Granny Rosie, owner of the Amazing Magnificent Magical Adventure Factory. Today is her birthday and Granny sits alone, sad and forgotten – until The Birthday Triplets dance into her life and change it forever.
We combined our unique experiences and talents to bring these magical, dancing triplets to life. “In creating the look of Cookie, Candi, and Coco,” says Lynn, “I combined a feeling of nostalgia with the strong, spirited girls of today. There’s a kind of sweetness and innocence that shines through them.”
My years in the classroom, both as a Montessori Directress and creative writing teacher, greatly influenced the girls’ personalities and story lines. Instilling values such as kindness, compassion, and gratitude became front and center. Without preaching, we created imaginative, comical stories with page-turning excitement. I think this is why their book also has such strong boy appeal.
Cookie, Candi and Coco would love to send children their free colorful newspaper, "The Birthday Triplets Times", available through their website, www.thebirthdaytriplets.com.
This summer in Rocky River and Little Italy, I'm offering fun creative writing workshops for kids ages 9-14. For more information, please visit my website, www.kellytooman.com.
