Lake Erie Starts Here

Your home is the first line of defense for the health of Lake Erie!  You can help be the solution to storm water pollution and contribute to the health of our Great Lake!  On May 10 from 6:00  p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Don Umerley Civic Center at 21016 Hilliard Road, the Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District and Ohio Prairie Nursery will present Shrink Your Lawn by Landscaping with Native Plants.

Planting native plants can improve the curb appeal of a home, boost its resale value, all while protecting our environment with their long root systems which hold in soil, slow stormwater runoff and provide vital food and habitat for birds, insect pollinators and many other species.  Learn how to properly convert part or all of your lawn to incorporate native plants. Ohio Prairie Nursery will present on seeding timing, picking a site, sowing your seed, maintenance and yearly expectations for a successful garden.
