Birds of Prey

Fairview Park Garden Club members show off their spring creations.

All are invited to join the Fairview Park Garden Club on Tuesday, April 12 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Fairview Park Library to enjoy the presentation Birds of Prey by The Medina Raptor Center. It will bring four birds - American Kestrel, Peregrine Falcon, Red-tailed Hawk, and Turkey Vulture - for viewing. The Center will present an informative hour-long talk about these birds, their role in the ecosystem, and the need to preserve their habitat. Items will be available to purchase for a donation. This event is open to the community. Come early--seating is limited.

The purpose of the Fairview Park Garden Club is to inspire the interest of its members in growing flowers and vegetable gardens and in promoting community beautification. Both the civic gardens planted throughout Fairview Park and the club's Showcase Garden Awards continue to be a focal point of our committment to the community.

The Fairview Park Garden Club meets monthly and, after a short business meeting, members turn their attention to knowledgeable speakers who share their expertise on such topics as planting and maintaining common garden plants, beekeeping, composting, and herb gardening.  The club also has hands-on programs to create items ranging from bird houses to floral displays.

Membership is open to any one who has a love of gardening, from working professionals to retirees.
