Clear Your Clutter, Put Your Junk In Your Trunk and Cash In Your Pocket!

Rocky River Senior Center "Junk In Your Trunk" Sale August 29 from nine to noon!

Where did it all begin? A pile here, an unsorted drawer there. Season after season, year after year, our lives become filled with debris from the past. There’s no time like the present to start removing clutter and organizing your stuff so that you can truly enjoy your home as you spend more time inside this fall and winter.

Sound exhausting?  It doesn’t have to be. The key is breaking the process of clutter clearing down into manageable pieces. Don’t try to tackle everything all at once.

Divide your possessions into five categories:

  • Throw out: First go through and find anything that can be tossed. Include anything worn, broken, chipped, in disrepair, or items you haven’t used in years.
  • Donate: Go on a shopping spree for those that are less fortunate.
  • Not ready to part: Place these in a box labeled with the date. If you don’t go back to the box in a year, donate!
  • Sell: Gather everything you would like to sell and stuff it in your car trunk to sell at the Rocky River Senior Center’s “Junk-N-Trunk Sale.”
  • Find a home: Items you truly love should have a space within your home where you can enjoy them.

It helps to give each item the “Three Question Test.” Do you really love it? Do you need it now? Can you imagine yourself or anyone in your family ever loving or needing it in the foreseeable future? If you can’t answer yes to any one of these questions, sell it, donate it, or recycle it.

Creating a clutter-free, organized home will bring calm and harmony creating an indoor space that you will love to be in. Get started today! Selling your items at the Junk-N-Trunk Sale is easier than having your own garage sale. Applications may be downloaded off the Rocky River City Website at www.rrcity.com , Senior Center. Or are available for pick up at the center. Cost is $20 car, $25 SUV-truck-van. Please contact Laurie Schaefer at 333-6660 for more information. Sale will be held in the parking lot at 21014 Hilliard Blvd. in Rocky River Saturday August 29 between 9 am and 1 pm, rain or shine!
