Art in Action Masterpieces

Masterpiece #1 - Flower!

The Rocky River District Art Show celebrated its opening night on May 13.  Artwork from every student was showcased in the halls of Rocky River Middle School.  During opening night, 4th graders from Kensington Intermediate School were treated to a very special experience.  The students worked side-by-side with professional artist, Augusto Bordelois, to create a 4th grade mural.  The 4th grade mural is a tradition at Kensington –  one that promotes class unity and pride.  This project was funded by the Kensington PTA.

This year’s project was titled “Art in Action” in which the students learned a technique called action painting.  Three large canvasses were covered with paint in a step-by-step process guided by the artist. The result is three very unique and quite beautiful "masterpieces" of art that will be permanently displayed in the halls of Kensington Intermediate School.
