Calling All Middle School Bands!

Bay Village, OH- On March 22, 2013, School of Rock will host the Middle School of Battle of the Bands at Bay Middle School (27725 Wolf Road, Bay Village).  Students will have the opportunity to play in front of their friends and family on stage, featuring professional lighting and sound.

Bands may perform original material as well as cover songs from other artists.  The competition will be judged on musical ability, showmanship and overall presentation.  Winners of the competition will receive a full month of tuition to School of Rock, Cleveland (with locations in Rocky River, Highland Heights and Strongsville).

All middle school students may enter through application, available at School of Rock or their local middle school office.  Bands entering must be in middle school and provide a $20 entry fee.

The sponsor of the event, School of Rock, is a performance- based music program which focuses on the development of students through practice and performance.  General Manager Louie Novotny believes The Middle School Battle of the Bands provides students with an opportunity to shine in front of their peers.  “Middle school bands don’t get a lot of chances to play on stage in front of a big audience,” says Novotny.  “We look forward to enabling students to rock out on stage”.
