Come and talk with the authors and have them sign your book if you choose to buy one or reserve your copy at the library.
Cathy Jo G will tell of her book, Transitions, where smart strong women handle life's everyday problems and overcome their own. Transitions is a great quick read that is both entertaining and thought provoking. It will leave an indelible impression in the mind of readers as they enjoy the handling of life's choices and consequences.
Her more recent novel, No More Expectations tells of a young woman with an eating disorder that wreaks havoc with her social life and dreams. She wants to get married but her beauty and intelligence are hidden within her and don't reflect out. Men can't see the fun-loving person within her and her social life is at a stand-still. With professional help and the support of friends, our heroine was able to lose her excess weight and develop her self-esteem. Her outlook on life changed and put her in control of it.
Clydell Harthorne wrote The Adventures of Libby Rae which is available in two books with a third on the horizon. Children ages 7-14 find the book fascinating and has been read worldwide. Libby Rae lives in a rural area and lives her life free of electronic games/gizmos. She has her fun through imagination and discovery, much the same as her parents and grandparents did. She enjoys her friends company, learns respect for them and that of animals. The book is colorfully illustrated.
Barbara Warny authored Women in Prison. A fictionalized true story tells the plight of several women incarcerated together through their lack of education, battered women's syndrome and stupidity. If you've ever wondered what it is really like to be in prison, she covers all aspects well. You will laugh, cry and anguish for these women. The horrors of being cut off from the outside world, the loss of respect of people in power, the filth, corruption and pain felt by families. All is artfully detailed in this book. The sociopathy, murder and mayhem, of one of the characters is spot on.
